B-C-S Levy Fact Sheet #2
October 2, 2019
3 Days Left to Register to Vote!
Benton-Carroll-Salem School District is on the November 5th ballot for a 3.9 Mill Property Tax Levy. The primary need for these new funds is due to the devaluation of the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station in 2018. B-C-S lost 25% of its operating budget due to this devaluation that was decided by the Ohio Department of Taxation.
You must be registered to vote to cast a ballot. Voter registration ends October 7. Click below to get information on how to register:
If the Levy Passes...Busing Service Will Be Restored
-If the November 5th levy passes, school bus transportation will be restored to what it used to be in previous years (with minor modifications) effective on January 6, 2020, which is the first day back from Christmas Break.
-This means that we will again transport High School students. We will also restore the limited pick up on Penta students.
-This means that we will again transport students who live within 2 miles of our schools.
-Shuttle service between buildings will be restored.
-This means that the District will notify parents prior to January 6th of their child's bus number and pick up time.
To repeat, we will only be able to restore busing if the November 5th levy passes. If the November 5th levy passes, we will restore busing on January 6, 2020.
Due to the fact we will collect the taxes from the new levy beginning on January 1st, we would be able to make this service available at that time.
