IIMCA
ICEF Inglewood Middle Charter Academy- Home of the Cougars!
Happy Monday!
I hope you enjoyed your three-day weekend! In the spirit of this Valentine's weekend, the following quote was selected,"Be so happy that when others look at you they become happy too."
Is this you?
If not, how could it impact your day if you approached the school day this way?
We work in the service of others; smile often, laugh plenty, enjoy yourself!
Have a happy week!

Huge Improvement- Uniforms
Our concerted effort to improve our uniform compliance has improved significantly! Working together, maintaining our high expectations, and follow through has made this effort a success! This will continue as our morning routine.
- Khaki Pants- Not cargo pants, cut off pants
- White Oxford Shirt- Not polo
- Blue and Gold Tie
- Outerwear Must be Dark Blue or Black
- Tennis shoes- Not boots
Walk the line with your PRIDE Tracker. Mark down every scholar that is wearing the incorrect uniform- They will lose a P. Then send the scholar to the office to contact their parent.
We will begin to allow scholars to wear a "loner" uniform for the day (We have not received the loners yet ). A same-day lunch detention will be associated with this violation.
Admin/Ops staff, I need you to do the same thing. When you see a scholar that is out of uniform acknowledge the violation.
There may be some cases where there a family hardship, let the office know and we will make accommodations.
Moderate Improvements- Scholar Expectations Hallway and Classroom (Scholar Zones)
Scholar noise levels have gone down and their lines are straighter. Continue leading your lines and reinforcing the expectations in the hallway and classroom (scholar zone)
- Teachers, I need you to be at the front of your line holding up our sign for silence- Peace sign up and index finger over mouth
- Scholars will walk over to the line
- Scholars must stand in a straight line
- Scholars must keep their hands by their side- They may not hug, touch another classmate as they are walking by- This would be a violation that you would record on the PRIDE Tracker
- Uniforms must be correct- Shirt tucked in, etc
We will be doing the routine as a school community. Masking tape will be down so that you are clear about where your scholars line up.
It is during this time that you walk your line and check uniforms (send to office if necessary). Lines during the check are at a noise level 0.
Scholar Zones are the three areas where the grade levels spend the majority of their time. In these zones they follow the expectations listed above.
- Teacher is present and at the door
- Scholars must stand in a straight line
- Scholars must keep their hands by their side- They may not hug, touch another classmate as they are walking by- This would be a violation that you would record on the PRIDE Tracker
- Uniforms must be correct- Shirt tucked in, etc
Team, we may be outside for the advisory period- that is fine. Reestablishing these expectations are our priority.
