News from Lake Louise School
August 3, 2022
Notes from Mrs. Riehman
Dear Lake Louise Families,
I hope that you are well and enjoying every minute of the last days of summer break. Lake Louise has been a busy place this summer! The building and grounds have had several beautification projects this summer and we can’t wait for the students and you to see the updates. Our back-to- school countdown has begun and we are excited to welcome the students back in a little over two weeks!
Teacher/classroom assignments and bus routes will be viewable by parents/guardians in Infinite Campus on/after August 4th (in the afternoon). We are working hard on finalizing registrations and placing students appropriately into classrooms as needed. If you have not completed the registration process, please kindly contact our school office to finalize the process as soon as possible. Information about our new teachers will be sent out in my next newsletter. Your child will not be assigned to a classroom until the registration process has been completed.
The Lake Louise teachers would like to officially invite all of our students to Meet the Teacher Day on Tuesday, August 16th from 1:30-2:30 pm. We kindly ask students to bring their school supplies to Meet the Teacher. If you ordered school supplies through our Lake Louise PTA, they will be delivered to your child's classroom and waiting for you on August 16th. In the event that you are not able to attend our scheduled Meet the Teacher Day, your child may bring his/her supplies on their first day of school. School supply lists have been linked here for your review.
The First Day of School for students in Grades 1-6 is a HALF DAY this year, from 9:15-12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17th. Lunch will not be served on this day. All kindergarten students will begin on Thursday, August 18th. Drop off will begin at 9:00 am each day. Every Friday, students are dismissed at 3:05 p.m. to provide time for our staff to engage in professional development activities. Please see below for details about our school hours.
Communication is an important connection between home and school. Families will receive biweekly newsletters from Lake Louise beginning on Sunday, August 14th. If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to contact me at 847-963-5605 or riehmanj@ccsd15.net. We are always happy to assist you.
I am honored to have the opportunity to serve our community as the Principal at Lake Louise. I am looking forward to sharing many rewarding experiences with your children and you as we partner together for a successful, exciting, and productive 2022-2023 school year.
Warm Regards,
Jen Riehman

Breakfast and Lunch Information
Both breakfast and lunch will be provided to all students at Lake Louise School who would like to eat the food served each day. Students at LL are offered FREE breakfast and lunch daily starting the first day of school as part of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program, funded by the federal government. Students may bring lunch from home if they prefer to do so.
What does this mean for families attending the CEP school like Lake Louise?
Again, all enrolled students will receive a free breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household. Your child(ren) will be able to participate without having to pay a fee, but we ask that you still complete the Fee Waiver form here (Spanish form) to determine if your family qualifies for other financial assistance such as school fees, athletic, and activity fee waivers. Again, completing the application is still necessary for other programs and assists with funding for educational programs in District 15.

A Note from the Lake Louise Health Office
A Note from the Lake Louise Health Office
Hello! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far! With the start of the new school year only a few weeks away, it is time to make sure your child’s health requirements are up to date.
All students new to District 15 will require a current physical exam with all immunizations up to date (Certificate of Child Health Examination), and students new to the State of Illinois will require an eye examination. This form is available in the school office, online, and here: State of Illinois Eye Examination Report.
All students should provide proof of immunizations by October 15, 2022 or the student will be excluded from school. The list of current immunizations can be found on the district website here: IDPH Health Requirements.
Students with health conditions such as asthma, epilepsy/seizures, severe allergies, and diabetes require the emergency action plan completed by their physician along with the Medication Administration Forms, signed by the physician and parent, for any medications required at school. Please bring these forms and medications on or before the first day of school. These forms are available in the school office, online, and here.
Diabetic Medical Management Plans must be brought in along with medication and supplies prior to or on the first day of school in order for the student to attend. If your child requires any of these health documents and you have not done so already, please kindly make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible.
If you have any questions regarding the above requirements, you may contact our school office. Thank you for your patience. Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your summer!
District 15 Registration & Residency for 2022-2023
Registration is required every year.
If you have already registered your child for the 2022/23 school year, thank you—no further action is required!
With only a few weeks left before the start of the new school year, we want to remind our families of the new registration and residency verification process. If you have not yet registered your child(ren) for the 2022-23 school year, you MUST complete your registration and proof of residency as soon as possible so your child(ren) is able to start school on the first day of school. Children that do not have a completed registration or proof of residency will NOT be assigned a classroom.
Online student registration for the 2022-23 school year is open. If you have not already started this process for your student(s), please visit our registration page to start this process.
Register your child. Registration is the first step in getting ready for the upcoming school year. After registering online, parents will need to go in person to your child's school and provide:
Health Forms. Required health, immunization, dental, and eye exams for students entering preschool, kindergarten, sixth-grade, and those who are new to the district.
Prove Residency. If you have a student that is starting Kindergarten, entering 4th grade, or entering 7th grade, you are required to prove residency in District 15. Our residency webpage outlines the documents you will need to provide to prove residency.
Pay student fees. Our student fee webpage outlines the District’s student fee structure and the three ways fees can be paid.
All of the above steps of the enrollment process must be completed prior to the start of the school year. Students of families that, when required, do not prove residency, will not be able to attend class in a District 15 until the family’s residency is verified.
