LIBRARY NEWS
Scholastic Book Fair is coming to GWS the week of May 24-28, 2021. Students will be able to shop the book fair during their scheduled library time that week.
Although parents are not able to shop in person this year, they can shop our book fair online. Anything purchased through this link will count toward our book fair total. This link can also be used to preview some of the books that will be onsite at our book fair.

You can also use that link to set up E-Wallet. E-Wallet is a way to give your student a secure, cash-free way to shop the fair. Simply create a free account, preauthorize a spending limit, and have funds immediately available. Please note that any funds not used will not be returned. After the Fair, remaining eWallet funds display as a gift card balance and can be used at The Scholastic Store Online, or to fund an eWallet for a future Book Fair.
Scholastic Book Fair will reward GWS by returning a portion of the sales (anywhere from 25% to 45%) directly to our library. This allows us to refresh and update the library’s inventory throughout the school year. If you have any questions, please email me at khay@mpsd.org.

FROM THE DISTRICT
We are planning our summer programs and wanted to let you know what our theme is as well as when our Summer Reading kick off will be.
The summer reading theme is Tails & Tales. Our kick off will be June 28th from 2-6 pm. I will send along flyers and information when it gets closer. Things will be more low key than usual as we head into a somewhat unknown summer, but we will still be encouraging all the early literacy we possibly can!
I would also like to ask that any info you have on book lists for your classes or whole school reads be sent along to us so that we can make sure we have these titles! As a former educator, I believe a partnership between libraries and schools is important. We look forward to growing that partnership!
As always, if there is anything the library can do for you, please let us know
