How Ishmael Escaped Death 2-15-16
in the novel "A Long Way Gone" the narrator Ishmael goes through many trials on his journey to try to reach a safe place where the rebels wont attack, but while he was doing that he was able to spit in deaths eye by being able to get out of some deadly situations. The first time he ever escaped death was when he left his village with his brothers and friends that village was not after they left attacked by the rebels who slaughtered people in there wake, not only that but Ishmael and his friends were shot at by RPGs (Rocket Propelled Grenade). Ishmael is a survivor he has been through starvation, being captured by the rebels, and he also survived in the wild going against ravenous hogs and the solitude of the wilderness. So far in the novel Ishmael seems to be able to handle himself just being alone but its maddening for him
