Read Across America Week in 3H
Monday, March 2 - Friday, March 6
We love to read!
We loved having Read Across America Week, and we were proud to meet our school reading goal this year. Each of the dress up days were so much fun! We also loved reading to the Kindergarten AM class and spending time reading and eating popcorn in the tent in library class! Another highlight was a wonderful Dr. Seuss book we read titled Horray for Diffendooer Day! The book was a story that Dr. Seuss had started. Sadly, he passed away before he was able to finish the book so children's poet Jack Prelutsky and illustrator Lane Smith worked together to finish out Dr. Seuss's ideas. A really cool highlight of the book is that the editor included Dr. Seuss' actual notes and sketches of the story in the back. Plus, the book had a great message about feeling confident in your ability to think!
