Counselor's Corner
Hello Bear Creek Cubs!
As we finish up the year of "pivoting" and standard testing, and begin to look toward summer, many of us (if not all of us) are feeling that exhaustion. While we look forward to some needed time off, this also offers opportunities to help build our kids back up with loads of positive affirmations and even more encouragement they so desperately need.
While this is great in theory, sometimes that exhaustion of life can make it hard to know how to build our kids up when behavior and poor choices are present. How we speak to our children is how they perceive themselves. While they may be acting "bossy", we can redirect that verbiage so they believe they, in fact, have excellent Leadership Skills. Change the negative to a positive. Easier said than done, I know. But always good to have another tool in the belt.😊
Here are some great ways to reframe potential negative behaviors so children can see themselves in a more powerful way. The more they see you believing the positive things about themselves, the more they will begin to see those positive things as well.
**I love the bonus tip at the bottom too. Try that once or twice a month and put it where they can see it every day to really build that confidence! 💪🏽
