Happy Three Day Weekend
What a wild week! We had a two hour delay on Tuesday, a field trip on Wednesday, two tests, the Middle School Science Fair, and a Valentine's Day celebration.
The field trip to the Hylton Performing Arts Theatre on Wednesday was incredible. Pennington was one of several schools to witness a trio, composed of two violins and an upright bass, that weaved in and out of several genres of music, displaying their virtuosity and cracking jokes between numbers. Students and teachers were inspired.
The three homerooms took turns viewing the science fair in the cafeteria this morning. It was quite impressive and a good model for our fifth graders working on their own experiments.
Hopefully, students were somewhat calm with a least half a bag of treats as they returned home today. The comradery was certainly felt throughout the grade level and no one, at least to my knowledge, complained of a hurt stomach. We appreciate all the chocolate piled upon our desks today; it should last us through the remaining winter months.
Our coat drive was successful. A big thanks goes out to all those who donated.
Please enjoy the three day weekend with your friends and families and we'll look forward to Tuesday when we hit the books again.
