A Note From the Teacher
Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! It is so hard to believe that we have been in school for 88 days already! Time flies when you’re having fun AND learning! We are also excited to welcome a new friend, Grant, into our classroom! We are so happy that you are a part of our school family!
During this week, we have be discussing the wonderful season of winter! We will be learning how many animals survive the winter season by either hibernation or migrating. We will read and compared two versions of The Mitten as well as other books by Jan Brett including The Hat and The Three Snow Bears. Jan Brett is a very interesting author and illustrator! If you would like to check out her website, go to www.janbrett.com
In addition to our books, we will participate in a variety of other “winter” activities as well. Please continue encouraging your child to take some time at home to draw & write about personal experiences. Please take some time to complete some of the activities in the “Mathematics at Home" books that we have sent home today with your child.
It should be another fun and busy week in kindergarten! Thank you also for sharing your child with us!
Laura
