Classroom Spotlight - Grade 3 Mrs. Muzik!
“Poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.” - Leonardo da Vinci
April is National Poetry Month and third graders in 3M have been busy studying a variety of poetic forms and then using those poems as models to create their own original poems. As poets, the students have become aware of the importance of choosing words carefully, finding just the right amazing adjectives and vivid verbs to help them “paint” their pictures. Poetry gives the students an opportunity to express themselves, play with language, and break the typical rules of writing. Along the way they have experimented with figurative language such as similes, metaphors, alliteration, and imagery. They are currently busy compiling and illustrating a collection of their poetry to share with others!

Calling for All Routine Second and Fifth Grade Physicals
Westwood Regional School District requests parents of our second and fifth grade students to submit a record of their routine history and physical performed by their primary care physician. These physicals are usually submitted on or about January 2nd of each school year.
To date, 52.1 % of the second grade class has submitted a physical and only 38.7% of the fifth grade students have submitted a physical. Of note, is the requirement for students entering the sixth grade to have a Tdap and Meningitis immunization.
If you are not sure about submitting the physical, please feel free to call me at 201 664 9000 extension 2.
