The Savage Life!

In the words of Dr. Seuss, "don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." That should be our mindset as we go to setting those alarms to go off Monday morning! I hope that each of you had a great Spring Break. I know that the days went quickly, and were busy. A lot of Savages seemed to be out and about and doing good things either during Spring Break or the week leading up to it. It always makes my heart happy to get to celebrate the good things that they are doing!

The State FFA Degree is awarded by State Associations and is open to senior members who are involved in chapter leadership, state–level activities and community service, and who complete a set number of hours of instruction and SAE growth and productivity. Congratulations, to the following Wynnewood Seniors on achieving this milestone!

Congratulations to Wynnewood Freshman Annika Pittman on placing second at the JH State Powerlifting Meet! Also, Junior Hernandez placed 4th at the high school State Powerlifting Meet! Congratulations, to both of you!

Our Savage Baseball team kicked off Spring Break by getting to play in a high school baseball series at the Oklahoma City Bricktown Ballpark! Even though our Savages came up just a little short on the scoreboard, they are still #1 in our hearts! We are thankful for the experience that these guys got to have!

Our livestock showing Savages got a chance to showcase their animals and hard work during Spring Break on the state level at the Oklahoma Youth Expo, which is the largest junior livestock show in the world. OYE is to livestock showers what state track meets, state tournaments, and any other kind of state competitions are to other students. When students compete here, they are competing against all 4-H and FFA members across the state. So, to place here, is a pretty big deal! Below we have our WHS students who brought home ribbons this week! Congratulations, to each of you!

Believe it or not, the third nine weeks has come to a close and we are embarking on the last quarter of the school year. This means that it is crunch time when it comes to getting courses completed in order to receive credit. Students will be sent home with a progress report in each of their classes on Tuesday. Please ask to see them! We still offer tutoring on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, as well as study hall at lunch time. If your child is failing a class, study hall is mandatory. If they are not failing, but could use some extra help, this is a great time to get that in, also. Please contact the office or your child's teacher with any questions that you may have!

Below is the pool play for Thursday's Thackerville Tournament. Each team will play two games that will be used for a single elimination tournament on Friday and Saturday. Note that Wynnewood plays at Turner on Thursday!

Prom tickets are on sale in the library. The cost is $35 per ticket. If you are bringing an out of town guest, you need to go ahead and get that form so it can be signed by the proper people prior to you purchasing a ticket for that person. FRIDAY is the last day to buy tickets!
