The New U.N.
Sketched By: Ethan Sarwer
An Idea
One day while sitting in my office sketching, pencil in hand I had an idea for a sketch. I glanced back at the tiny LEGO architecture model of the United Nations sitting in the corner of my bookcase and winced in disgust. My own opinion is that the whole complex is disgusting. It may have looked good at the time when it was built in 1952, but now it is less, well, appealing to the modern eye. I then thought, "wouldn't it be nice if they rebuilt the U.N. headquarters." So, thinking that it would be an interesting sketch to undertake I began to create the image you see below.
The New City Sketch Project
While designing the new U.N. I came up with the idea of integrating all these building including the U.N. along with several other sketches of future government buildings into a mega city that would not only serve as the capital but also house all the important landmarks and places. Making it sort of a mega-city. The U.N. is a series of 4 building with the other three below.
