This topic is important because some people don't understand why Hitler did the things that he did to the Jews, so this article will explain why he hated them so much.
Why did Hitler hate the Jews?
There are a lot of different ideas people think of to explain why Hitler hated Jews. A common one is that Hitler was mad at Jews because a Jewish doctor couldn't save his mother. This is actually untrue, Hitler didn't blame the doctor for his mother's death and actually wrote him a letter to thank him for caring to her and he also arranged for the doctor to be spared from the harsh treatment of Jews until he could emigrate to the United States. Here are some of the real reasons historians believe Hitler hated Jews.
Hitler's Childhood
Hitler's childhood may explain his hate for Jews. Adolf grew up in small town in Austria near the German border that had an antisemitic mayor. This could have influenced his hate for Jews early in his life.
The Economy and Post WWI Germany
Another reason that could have influenced Adolf to hate Jews is the economy in Germany during the 1920's and 30's. The Jewish community had major control over the economy because of all of the shops and important merchandise they sold. They were making a lot of money while everyone else struggled. Hitler also blamed the Jews for losing WWI. He believed they stabbed Germany in the back.
A Pure Race
Hitler was a strong supporter of a pure Germany. He thought the Aryans were the superior race and minorities ( such as the Jews and other groups) were inferior. He wanted to rid of all minorities so Germany could become pure and perfect. This led to the murder of millions of Jews.
Deportation of Jews
In 1933 there were about 522,000 Jews living in Germany. In the first 6 years of the Nazi dictatorship under Hitler, 304,000 of these Jews emigrated to other countries for safety. The remainder were unfortunately around when WWII started and Hitler started deporting Jews to concentration camps where most were executed.
The Final Solution
After deportation, Hitler thought the best thing to do was extermination. He called it "the final solution". The concentration camps became industrial sized killing centers. One of the biggest camps was Auschwitz-Birkenau. The treatment of the Jews at these concentration camps was brutal and inhumane. Most women and children were killed on the spot by shootings or being sent to the gas chamber, the rest were put to work and most of the workers died due to starvation and poor treatment.
