Fulton Focus

For the parents and patrons of the Fulton School District

A message from the Superintendent

Dear Parents and Patrons,

School has been in session almost a complete month. By this time, your student(s) should be actively engaged in academic activities. My observation of student success and behavior is that those students with involved parents have greater success in school and related activities. I do trust you are monitoring your student’s progress and communicating with his/her teacher if you have concerns. Registered parents can monitor student attendance and academic progress through the parent portal and other software being used for instructional purposes. The building office, where your student(s) attends, can assist with electronic access instructions. If you have not done so, please take few minutes to check and discuss your child’s progress with him or her!

Perhaps you have noted in the local press a significant error in state wide test results. Individual student results are being distributed; however, the aggregate building and district score, known as the Annual Performance Report, APR, is not available at this time. Dr. Crain will be reviewing these issues with your Board of Education this week. Below, you will find two items of information from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Education which discuss the error.

Thanks for sending us great kids to work with!

Jacque A. Cowherd, Ed.D.

Superintendent

Kindergarten Enrollment

Traditional forecasting methods for children entering Kindergarten were not as accurate this year as they have been in the past. Therefore, FPS is attempting to locate ALL children who are not yet old enough for Kindergarten so projections can be made with more accuracy.

If you have a child residing in your home who is not enrolled in Kindergarten this year, please fill out the form below and return it to Central Office at 2 Hornet Drive. Your help is greatly appreciated.
