Practicum Overview
What are the benefits of classical, Christian education? How can I give my children a classical, Christian education at home?
Join speaker Cheryl Reynolds and other homeschooling parents (both new and veteran) for three days of encouragement and inspiration as we seek to understand the classical model of education and learn how to apply it in Christian homeschooling.
We’re excited that this year we will be digging deeper into understanding the art of relationships through logic.
Cheryl will present practical tools for giving your children a classical, Christian education at home, show you the grammar, dialectic, and rhetoric stages of learning in every subject and teach you to discover how every subject glorifies God. The second half of the morning will be devoted to understanding the art of logic/relationships.
In the afternoon Cheryl will demonstrate practical tools for teaching logic. (Afternoon topics may vary.)
You'll also be able to Get equipped at our on-site bookstore. You will find the resources you need to educate classically and be able to get expert advice from our book representative. *Please note that no checks will be accepted by the bookstore rep. Credit cards, debit cards, and cash are welcome.

Important Arrival Information
When you arrive at the church, please go directly to the registration area at the front entrance. Registration and Sign-in begin each day at 8:30am. Adults will sign in upon entry and receive their children's classroom assignments and security wristbands. Please fill out and bring the Risk Release Waiver (click on link for PDF download) with you. Your child cannot attend camp or nursery without it. A photo release form is also available by clicking on the link.
You may also refer to your registration confirmation packet for these materials.
Each camper will receive a security wristband at the registration desk and a student roster will be available in each classroom, which will include a place for marking your child's arrival and departure (morning, lunch, and day's end). Children will only be released from camp after a parent has signed them out. This will assist the camp counselors with attendance, safety, and the security of your children.
The Practicum will begin promptly at 9 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. each day, so please allow at least 15 minutes or more on the first day for registration/sign-in. Children registered for a camp will need to be signed in daily so, again, please allow adequate time.
Lunch
You may pack a lunch for your family or visit a local restaurant. You may eat in the Fellowship Hall within the church or choose to enjoy a picnic lunch outside. There is an open field in the back of the church where you may wish to sit and eat on a blanket or chair that you bring.
Children will be permitted to play outside during lunch but ONLY with parental supervision. Please be prompt in picking up your children from their camps so that the helpers can eat lunch. Please keep your children with you during the lunch hour; they must be supervised at all times.
Pizza from Little Caesars will be offered for lunch on day three of Practicum. Orders will be taken in advance on July 17th and 18th. You will pay $5.00, plus tax ($5.30) for all hot-n-ready pizzas (cheese or pepperoni) and $6.50, plus tax ($6.89) for any other large one-topping pizzas. Cash only. If you and your family would like to enjoy Pizza on the final day of Practicum (Wednesday, July 18), please inquire at the registration desk about placing an order.
Other nearby food options include: McDonalds, Nandos, Panera Bread, Blaze Pizza, and Noodles and Company, all at Laurel Towne Center.
Also please note that due to the many severe allergies to peanuts among the children and adults in attendance, THIS MUST BE A PEANUT FREE EVENT. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
