We want to thank you for your assistance with your student during this past week with ACCESS testing. However we had a few technical difficulties and will once again follow our test schedule on Tuesday 1/30/23 to complete the Writing portion of the test.

See below for a few reminders:

1. SAAP tutoring continues after school this week.
2. Boys basketball practice continues this week
3. Cheerleading practice continues this week.

Queremos agradecerle por su ayuda con su estudiante durante la semana pasada con las pruebas ACCESS. Sin embargo, tuvimos algunas dificultades técnicas y una vez más seguiremos nuestro calendario de pruebas el martes 1/30/23 para completar la parte de escritura de la prueba.

This week in ELA students completed their essays on cause and effect. They also presented their projects on Sharing Art, Here are the links for all three classes. Feel free to check your child’s project out.

This week in 7th-grade math we are learning how to model the subtraction of integers on a number line as well as using 2 color counters.

7th Grade Science is finishing their unit on Energy. Students will be completing a written explanation as well as an End of Unit Assessment.

The students in the General Music class are exploring many different types of music. The 6th graders are learning how to sing. They will be preparing two different songs. We will record those songs and present them later this spring. Most of the 8th graders and all of the 7th graders are writing original digital music music compositions. Click on the samples and hear how wonderful they are turning out. The remainder of the 8th graders are beginning to learn now to play guitar and will be presenting their work in the spring.

The most exciting news is that there is now an after school choir at Miguel Juarez. This choir is open to anyone and we still have room for more members. The choir practices 2:30 - 4:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you have any questions or if your student would like to join please contact Mrs. Clark for more information

Los estudiantes de la clase de Música General están explorando muchos tipos diferentes de música. Los alumnos de sexto grado están aprendiendo a cantar. Estarán preparando dos canciones diferentes. Grabaremos esas canciones y las presentaremos a finales de esta primavera. La mayoría de los alumnos de 8.° grado y todos los de 7.° grado escriben composiciones originales de música digital.
