Coyote Creek News

October 28th/2013

Coyote Creek is an active place and the next several weeks are particularly busy with different opportunities to see your child participating in an informal setting (Halloween Parade) (Diwali Assembly) or more formal (Remembrance Day Assembly)

Hopefully, you'll be able to make it to one or more of these events and please remember parents are always welcome at Coyote Creek!

Picture Retakes

Picture Retake Day is this Wednesday October 30th at 8:30 a.m. This is an opportunity for students who were not here on the original Photo Day and students who would like their pictures redone. If students would like their photos redone, they have to bring their original photo package to school, so the photographer can do the retake:)

Halloween Parade

On Thursday October 31st, Coyote Creek will have an exciting parade to showcase the wide variety of costumes we anticipate having in our school. At 8:45 a.m., classes in each wing will join together in a parade which will allow students to both display their costume and enjoy the costumes of others. Once classes have completed the parade, they will join the rest of the school in the gym (at approximately 9:00 a.m.) for the "Monster Mash." Parents are welcome to come and join us for the fun in the gym at about 9:00 a.m.

Moustache and Tie Day

Friday November 1st will be Moustache and Tie Day. Please show your school spirit by wearing a moustache and/or a tie on this day. Your moustache can be real, but if not, you can purchase one at the school for $1.00. As part of our Grade Seven students Me to We project, All proceeds from Moustache sales will go towards supporting a village in India.

No Nuts Please!

A special reminder that we have several students with life threatening allergies to nuts. Sometimes with Halloween Treats we forget that students can't be bringing nut products to Coyote Creek. Thanks for helping to make our school safe for all students.

Remembrance Day Assembly

The Remembrance Day Assembly is next week on Thursday November 7th at 10:15 a.m. Come join us for this special assembly as we'll hear from a variety of students involved in class presentations, school choir and honouring members of families who have served in the military.

Diwali Assembly

Our students are quite excited about the upcoming Diwali assembly and are already practising their dancing in anticipation of performing on Thursday November 14th. Please join us at 1:00 p.m. for a fashion show, dance performances and some speeches about this important event.
