Congratulations Mrs. Mullen!
The 10th annual SONIC Limeades for Learning Fall Voting campaign is officially underway! Public school teachers often end up paying for classroom supplies, equipment, and anything else their students need out of their own pockets. SONIC is lending a hand to public school teachers everywhere by funding up to $1 million worth of teacher projects through Sunday, October 28.
Mrs. Mullen, one of our 8th grade science teachers, submitted four projects to Limeades for Learning and on October 2 SONIC fully funded all four projects! Mrs. Mullen's 8th grade class will soon be receiving almost $2,400 worth of lab supplies.
Congratulations Mrs. Mullen! Thank you for all you do for our scholars! Our 8th graders will receive the following:
* A Bakers Dozen Demo Chemistry Kit - 13 different chemistry labs
* Carolina Transfusion Matching with Synthetic Blood Kit - Blood transfusion lab
* Molymod Advanced miniDNA Set - DNA model
* Identification of Chemical Reactions Kit - Chemical reaction labs
* Modeling Mitosis and Meiosis 8-Station Kit - Mitosis models
* Magnetic Water Kit Class Set - H2O molecule models
* Patriotic Colors Class Chemistry Kit - Chemistry labs
Investigate...
to uncover...
You are the head chef at a local restaurant. You are trying to create some new menu items for your patrons and need to organize the specific ingredients that you will be using. In your supply cabinet you have located all of the items except one, which has no label. Your job is to identify the mystery powder and create a label for it so you can properly train your sous chefs on how to prepare the new menu items.
the mystery!
Scholars had to test four powders with four different types of liquids and record the reactions. Then they were given a mystery powder, that was one of the four powders they'd already tested, and tested that the same way to gather results. They then compared the results to figure out which was the "mystery" powder.

Count your blessings!
Our attitude is a choice, and choosing to have a positive outlook is an essential skill that can help you overcome adversity and appreciate the blessings in your life. So often we get in the habit of focusing on the negative, but it is so important to intentionally choose to remain positive. Find the awesome, even in the toughest situations!
What are you thankful for?
