Are You Ready for Some Football?!

Tonight is our first home football game beginning at 7:30. Here are a few things to be aware of to make sure that you have the best time possible!

All elementary students must be under the supervision of their parents at the game. No one should be on the practice football field (the grassy hill) and if you leave, you are not able to re-enter. Also, the district is switching over to online tickets only, so be sure to get yours before you head to the game! See the infographic below for how to do that.

Morning Dropoff

One Way You Can Help! If we could limit turns at the Travis/Dawn intersection to right turns only, it would greatly help our dropoff line!

Morning Drop-Off: If your child is eating breakfast, please drop them off at the Civic Drive loop. If they are not needing breakfast, you may drop them off at Civic Drive OR Travis Drive.

Our Week In Pictures

If your student is not going to be present, please email Christine Harris at charris@lagovistaisd.net and cc the nurse (cfoster@lagovistaisd.net) and teacher and be sure to include the reason for missing. Please note, whether or not you have notified us ahead of time, your student will still be counted absent at attendance time. You have 3 days to submit a note to the attendance clerk. As time permits, the notes will be uploaded into your student's file and the absence will be updated. If it's excusable, you will see an A in your Parent Portal. Please check your Parent Portal under attendance to see if it was updated before reaching out.

Drop off items!

Please be sure to have all items labeled with your student's first and last name on it. You may drop off items at the table located in the foyer. We ask that you please drop off items before 10am. If you are dropping off medicine for the nurse, please wait for assistance.

Safety Information

Your child's safety is, and always has been, our number one priority. Here are a few of the things we are doing to ensure your child's continued safety:

1. Exterior doors will remain locked at all times. Checks of exterior doors will be conducted to ensure they are locked and closed securely.

2. Interior doors will remain locked at all times.

3. No adult will be admitted to the building without being screened through our Raptor system which checks for criminal history violations.

4. All visitors will be issued a visitor's badge with a photo ID printed on it. Badges will be collected upon exiting the building. Visitors will be required to enter through the newly constructed vestibule at the front entrance.

5. A variety of safety drills will be conducted routinely in order to ensure students and staff know protocols for various emergency situations.

LVES Yearbook

We have an amazing parent volunteer who gathers pictures all year long and creates an awesome yearbook for us each year. She is always looking for more pictures! You can contribute pictures of your child and their times here at school by joining the Facebook page LVES Yearbook. Let's add some of those cute first day pics!
