Destiny Interlibrary Loan is Coming Back !
Follett is working on a new Cross District Loan module for Destiny which will allow RILINK members participating in the statewide interlibrary loan system (LORI) to see and borrow items easily from other districts and schools. RILINK staff has met with the Follett group developing the software, which should be available early next year. No definite date for its release has been announced yet. The new Cross District Loan module, CDL for short, will work in a similar way to the system for loaning across a district that we have used in the past for loans among RILINK members and will be available in conjunction with the existing Destiny interlibrary loans process. The first version of CDL will provide only librarian-mediated loans with student and teacher initiated loans slated for later release. CDL will also include interlibrary loan statistics.
LORI member libraries currently on the delivery schedule who would like to pilot the new module should contact Dorothy or Karen.
Once CDL is in place, ILL requests will no longer appear on the listserv. Thank you for your continuing patience.
Other ILL Updates
RILINK staff has enabled district-defined ILLs for all school districts. This change for participating schools does the following:
Directs date calculations for days to circulate to the district level rather than the site level.
Removes the requesting site's ability to choose the method of delivery. Ship It is the only available method of delivery from the lending site to the requesting site.
Automatically sets up the Receive ILL notification emails permission in Access Levels for the Administrator and Library Administrator.

This means that any school within a district has the option to borrow and loan with other sites in their district. In order to participate, from Back Office go to Admin|Site Configuration|Circulation and check the first box. The second box allows renewals at the borrowing site and is optional.
If your district has a method of sending materials from one school to another in the district, we encourage you to take advantage of this feature.
Please contact Karen Shore with any ILL questions.
RILINK has added magazines to RISOCKS!
