Principal's Office
We hope everyone has had a great weekend! Here is our Roadrunner Weekly for the week of January 13th through January 17th. This past Friday we held our in-school 4th and 5th grade spelling bees. Congratulations to Emily Guillen in the 4th grade and NIcholaus Fischer in the 5th grade for winning their respective grade-levels. Congratulations also to all the other students who made it to the live competition. Some pictures can be found below. The next round is a written test that will be given by Mr. Pickett for all of the school district winners at Lincoln Crossing Elementary School Wednesday, January 29th at 3:30 in the library. We know they'll make us proud! Good luck, Emily and Nicholaus!
Our Boosterthon Fun Run takes place at the end of the month on January 31st. This is our big fundraiser of the year. Last year, our fundraiser primarily went to support the purchase of our new play structure. This year, we are hoping to raise funds for some ongoing, general campus safety and beautification needs (I.e., a sunshade, benches, etc. for our outdoor learning area in the intermediate wing; a decomposed granite walkway behind the primary wing; and other smaller needs TBD). Thanks again so much for your continued support of our school and our kids! We also will be participating in a Starstruck Showcase dance performance for the first time! The show will take place on March 5th, with rehearsals beginning this week.
As a weekly reminder, i-Ready is an important skill builder that our kids can access at school and at home. Our teachers try to build in time during the school day for some practice, but we also encourage your child to continue using it at home also as the program recommends a minimum of 45 minutes per subject, per week to help build math and ELA skills.
Lastly, please check out our staff websites to keep current on homework and class events.
Welcome back, and have a great week!
