Holiday Shop Helps to Ring in the Season
During the week of December 12th, the PTA will be hosting their annual Holiday Gift Shop. This program is completely voluntary. Overall, the purpose of this program is to help your NF child purchase gifts for family members of their choosing, (i.e. parents, grandparents, siblings, pets, etc.). There are gift tables available for the students to visit during their normally scheduled library time that week. Volunteer parents help your child(ren) make gift recommendations, and no gift is over $5. This is not a fundraiser for the school. No profits are made. This is a service provided to our NF community that people have enjoyed in the past. Volunteer sign-ups and additional information will be forthcoming from PTA after Thanksgiving break.

Slight Uptick in Discipline Referrals
Each academic quarter a team of staff take a look at the statistics regarding discipline referrals. Typically, the best comparisons come from looking at the previous year's academic quarter as compared to the current one. Sadly, the NF staff has seen an increase in student issues since August, 2022. In our first quarter, the main categories of misbehavior fall into poor student choices with disrespecting staff, (verbally), the inability to control self, disruption of class time, teasing/name calling, and minor acts of aggression. Consistent discipline referrals are coming from only 4% of our overall student population. The vast majority of students make great choices each and every day!
The NF staff consistently teaches and models expected school behaviors in a variety of formats; such as, PAX, Class Huddle, 7 Mindsets programming, small group counseling sessions, behavior plans, specific interventions, and clinical counseling referrals. Our staff strongly appreciates the parents and care-givers who talk with their children regularly about positive expectations.
