Library Corner
Ms. Williams, Library Teacher
Our library is undergoing some renovations right now! We are getting new tile carpet throughout the library. We are hoping that we will be able to resume checkouts by Monday, once the carpet is placed in Ms. Williams’ classroom, Ms. Princi’s classroom, Mrs. Collins’ office, and the main library itself. It will be a new reset for this space as some of the VIP seating will be able to return as well as some BRAND NEW MYSTERY seating!
Thank you to all the after school classes that helped move supplies and materials out so the workers could begin this week. Our school appreciates you!
Ms. Williams is making a new library book checkout schedule for next week so all classes will be able to return, renew, and check out new books, and then library classes will resume with our ELA and ELL classrooms. Stay tuned!

Should We Change the Pledge of Allegiance?
by Jadon DesRochers
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
That is the original pledge of allegiance and the better one. But what's different? The “under God” part is gone. The new one has “under God’ and that stuff, but it's really annoying because it goes against my religion. And most people in middle school probably are not even part of a religion. Which is why the original should be used and then maybe I will say it in the morning. The “under God” part was added 1954 by president Eisenhower. And the very original was. “I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. Interesting.

Jokes of the Weekby Jadon DesRochers What did the shark say when he ate the clown fish? This tastes a bit funny. Why can't you hear a pterodactyl go to the bathroom? Because the P is silent. | Did You Know?by Jadon DesRochers They used to say prunes instead of cheese when taking pictures. In the 1840s, a big—dare we say, cheesy—grin was seen as childish, so one London photographer told people to say “prunes” to keep their mouths taut. And that look predated today’s “fish face” selfie by, oh, about 180 years. Incidentally, the first selfie was really invented in 1839 by this guy. | Riddleby Jadon DesRochers What month has 20 days? Last week's riddle: A new clothing store has a unique method of pricing items. A vest costs $20, a tie costs $15, a blouse costs $30, and underwear costs $45. How much would pants cost? Answer: 25$ each letter = 5$ |
