Elkton Elementary School Memo
August 29, 2021
A Note from Mrs. Palmer
Dear EES Families,
I am excited to be part of a community of great students, parents, and teachers at Elkton Elementary School this year!
Elkton Elementary prides itself in being a “Community of Learners” where our students and staff look for opportunities to learn from each other in our daily lives. We are committed to high academic expectations, mutual respect, and social responsibility.
The staff at Elkton Elementary has high expectations for all of our students. We have even higher expectations of ourselves. This year, the Elkton staff will continue to dedicate our focus on improving student learning for all students. We will continue to work diligently through collaboration to discuss teaching strategies to meet the needs of our students. We will improve student learning through improved instruction focusing on aligned curriculum, data collection, and assessment. We are committed to finding each student’s skill level and taking them forward in their learning.
Please join our Parent Teacher Organization. Our PTO is vital and strong, providing valuable support for our school through volunteering, providing classroom mini-grants, funding extra-curricular activities, and more! Call to the school to inquire more about our PTO and how to get involved.
As the building Principal, I believe that in order to be successful, we need to partner with you, the families of our students. We need your support as we ask students to practice reading, writing, and mathematics at home. Throughout the year, I will continue to meet and talk with many of you, as well as to learn about your children and family. If there is anything I can do to help or provide answers to questions you may have, please let me know.
We appreciate your continued support. We are honored to be entrusted with this critical component of their lives. Thank you for sharing your children with us. They are the reason we are here.

Meet our New School Counselor- LeAnne Lambert
Hello, my name is LeAnne Lambert. I am from Broadway, VA and currently live in Elkton. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, boyfriend, and two dogs (Maverick and Lilly). I love the mountains and doing anything outdoors- hiking, hunting, weekend trips to the cabin. Some of my hobbies include reading, running in the mornings, shopping, and antiquing with my twin sister.
I graduated from Eastern Mennonite University's Masters in Mental Clinical Health Counseling program in 2017 and am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have four years of counseling experience in the school setting (one year internship, three years as a TDT Specialist) at Pleasant Valley Elementary School. For the last year, I have been working as an outpatient therapist with children, adolescents, and adults.
I am so very excited to be a part of Elkton's school family and am looking forward to getting to know you all this school year!
