First Grade at O.C.T.
December 14-18
Highlight of the Week
Instead of doing the featured app this week, here is a link to the hour of code activities.
Shhhh…It’s a Secret!
On Monday, December 7th, you received your child’s letter to Santa Claus in an envelope in his/her folder. These were written in class and copies will be displayed at school. The students have been told that the originals were mailed to Santa. Please type a response to your child from Santa, print on the stationary paper provided and send it back to me in the envelope provided (NOT folded) ASAP. We ask that you use size 14 Comic Sans MS font and your response must be only one page. The letters will be delivered and passed out during our class holiday party on December 17th. This activity always tends to create great excitement and happiness during the party. Thank you so much for taking the time to make a magical memory for your child!
CLASS PARTY
Friendly Reminder:
No siblings are allowed at class parties. This is a school policy.
Hope to see you there.

LUNCH/EARLY DISMISSAL DAY
This Friday is an early dismissal day for students. Please discuss your lunch plans with your child prior to Friday. If your child is purchasing a sack lunch from the cafeteria on Friday, please contact your child’s teacher no later than Wednesday. All teachers must submit the number of sack lunches needed before Friday. Please also send a heavy snack on Friday, if your child is not eating lunch until after 11:45.
A Gift for Your Child
During the class holiday party on Thursday, December 17th, students will be receiving a small gift from me. I thought it would also be nice if each student received a book from his/her parents. Please provide your child with a book to open at our party. Wrap the book in one package, label with your child’s name and send it to school by December 15th.
