Dr Seuss Day Friday March 3
We will be reading lots of Dr. Seuss books to celebrate his birthday next week.
Help us celebrate this great author by allowing your student to bring his or her favorite Dr. Seuss book to school on Friday March 3rd and dress up as his or her favorite character.
Examples might be Thing 1 and Thing 2 wearing a red t-shirt and pinning a white paper plate on the front that says Thing 1 or Thing 2. The crazy hair could be made out of blue construction paper.
There are so many possibilities! www.Seussville.com has pictures to help also.

21 Day challenge
As many of you know, your students have been working really hard to eat healthy snacks during the 21-day Challenge. In order for students to participate and count for your school, parents had to complete an initial survey and then complete a final survey.
The final survey will go out to parents via email beginning next Monday, February 27th. Please have your child complete this survey.
Parents must complete the final survey for to win prize. Completing this student survey does not take place of parent survey.
Please let me or your PE teacher know if you have any questions.

My class was so excited to meet them and can not wait for their turn to take them home.
I know you will take special care of them so each child will have an opportunity to take them home.
We will read about their adventures after they return them the next day to class.

Wylie ISD 2017-18 Calendar Release
If you have not seen the updated calendar for next year, it is posted on the district website. There is a survey that you can give feedback regarding changes you would like to see.
For the most part, it is similar to this year's. Some changes that have occurred include:
- School will start August 21, the third Monday of August, opposed to the fourth Monday. The district applied for a waiver to do this.
- Christmas Break starts on a Thursday and ends on a Tuesday, making the break for staff 13 days, opposed to the typical 16 days.
- They added a teacher work day following Christmas Break.
- Spring Break is now aligned with Dallas County and Collin County community colleges. So it is now the 2nd week of March.
