Parent Tiger Talk
November 2018
Happy Thanksgiving!
Congratulations to the students and staff for success on the recently released district and school report cards. At a time of year when we count our blessings, I want to thank you as parents for your efforts to make our district growth possible. We are in a time of economic and social change and see the effects in our classrooms every day. Together, with our joint effort and care for each individual student, we continue to make great strides.
Enjoy your time with family and friends over the long weekend. Have a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving!
Your Superintendent,
Mary
November Board Brief
Emergency School Closings
Recently the Emergency School Closing Weather Letter was shared via IC Messenger as crisp, chilly and slippery winter days are just around the corner. Please know that the decision to close school or delay openings due to inclement weather is based on the best information available at the time the decision is made; however, we can never be sure how the weather will affect all 117 square miles of the school district. If you do not feel that it is safe for your child to attend school or your teenager to drive to school, use your best judgment. Weather-related absences are excused absences.

District and School Report Cards
RASD earned four out of five stars on state report cards from the DPI, issued for the 2017-18 school year. Ripon exceeds expectations for educating students! The district retained the same four-star rating received last year and increased the overall score by 2.2 points. This is something worth celebrating. See the results for each school on our district website.
