President's Update
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for Family Fun Fest last Friday night! It was exciting to see the joy on the faces of the children. A lot of time, hard work and organization goes into an event like Family Fun Fest. A special thank you to Angela Stowe and Katy Fievet for their help planning, coordinating and executing this year's event!
The next PTO meeting will be this Thursday, March 14th at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The McKinley Messengers would like to thank everyone who generously donated baked goods to our cakewalk at Family Fun Fest. They were very popular with the kids, and we were able to raise over $500 for Messenger charities! We would also like to thank Ms. Daily for graciously clearing her office of instruments and Lindsay Stadler, Angela Stowe , Mrs. Garder and Mrs. Uden for their help.

Safe Routes to School
Thank you to everyone who celebrated the benefits of walking to school with us last month. A special thanks to our Sponsor Corey Boldt and teammates, Double Boldt Real Estate for sponsoring the hot chocolate and Juan Matute, Jean Hoffmann, Alderwoman Kelly Rifelj, Lindsay DesPlaines, Vanessa Eisenmann, A.J. Grove, Sarah Lerand, Kristin Marlier, Brigitte Schmitt, Carrie Theis, and Jeff Roznowski for help with setup, distribution and clean up.
Congratulations to Mrs. Wendland's 3rd Grade class for winning the "Safety Pledge" competition. A special SRTS treat will be delivered to her class this week. Thank you to all the parents who took the time to review walking safety and drop up/ pick up safety with their family. In total, almost a third of our students heard the message. Great job!

You're Invited! Neighborhood Meetings Regarding the New McKinley Elementary School
The Wauwatosa School District invites neighbors of McKinley Elementary School to participate in the design visioning of the new McKinley Elementary School that will be constructed as part of the voter-approved facilities referendum.
While construction of McKinley of won't begin until next summer (2020), the District and its architect are beginning the community engagement portion of the design process.
JOIN US as we create a vision for the new McKinley Elementary School.
Neighborhood Meeting #1 - Artifact Scavenger Hunt
Tuesday, March 19
5:00 - 6:30 p.m.
The goal of this meeting is to identify elements of the current building design that the community appreciates.
Neighborhood Meeting #2 — Site Design Charrette
Thursday, April 18
6:00 -7:30 p.m.
Groups will discuss possible site layouts per the parameters/ requirements for each site.
Neighborhood Meeting #3 — Preliminary Design Presentation
Wednesday, May 15
6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
The architect will present preliminary designs for feedback, based on input from the first two meetings.

Wauwatosa West Junior Class Fundraiser
NEED A BABYSITTER? LOOK NO FURTHER THAN... TOSA WEST'S NIGHT OUT!
The Junior class has booked the main gym for the evening and will supply parents of elementary school-aged kids with a night of babysitting!

Art Room Volunteer Sign Up
Please consider signing up to volunteer in your student’s art class by clicking HERE. K5 classes meet twice a week for 45 minutes. 1st to 5th grade classes meet once a week for an hour. It’s a fun opportunity to help kids express their creativity. If you can help mount or hang art at other times, please contact Heidi Engbring at hengbring@wi.rr.com.

How Do I Become a Member of the PTO?
You already are! If you are a parent, guardian or teacher at McKinley Elementary School, you are a member of the PTO.
Interested in becoming more involved? The PTO is always looking for help. Volunteer opportunities in areas of marketing, communication, social media coordination, event coordination, website design, merchandising and more! There are volunteer opportunities that fit everyone's schedule - during school hours, after school hours, work from home hours and one time event hours.
