Ground Zero : 9/11 wreckage
U.S. Under Attack!
A few days ago on 9-11-01, the World Trade Centre was targeted by hijacked planes. At 9:59 am, the South Tower fell to its doom, and shortly following at 10:28 am, the North Tower collapsed. In this catastrophe, approximately 3000 people were reported missing. This included those killed by the harsh explosion, those who were trapped above, and those who were forced to jump because they wouldn't make it in time. The wreckage could take as long as 5-6 months to be removed. During this time, President Bush was attending a volunteer job at an elementary school. When he heard about the news, he pretended like it was nothing and resumed reading to the children. "America has never been united by blood or birth or soil. We are bound by ideals that move us beyond our backgrounds, lift us above our interests, and teach us what it means to be citizens." This is a quote by the president himself stating that no matter what race you are or what you believe in, all U.S. citizens are in a stage of mourning and we need to stick together to get through this tragedy. The terrorist group responsible is thought to be a radical Muslim group called Al-Qaeda. Nearly 20 of them sacrificed their lives for this act of terror.
President Bush has been consistent with his support and promises that those who have done wrong to our country and its citizens will face justice.
