Objectivism (Rand's Philosophy)
Rand believes that one should be selfish but not in the traditional sense of the word. She means for someone to find a genuine sense of self esteem, to follow reason not faith and as your highest moral aim, pursue your own happiness. Its meant for you to take care of yourself and others if it continues to benefit you.

Last Week Tonight - Ayn Rand
Ayn Rand was also
a very important figure and her philosophy and writing was very controversial. She was so controversial because of her extreme individualism. There is also believed to be a cult like group that follows Rand's philosophy as if it were a religion. It's also believed that her ideals are all about egoism and her cult follows suit.
Being from Russia, at just 12 years of age in 190, she witnessed the first shot of the Russian Revolution. Witnessing this broadened her view of humans and she went on to write books. And expand her philosophy.
I think she makes so many people feel the way they do because she says what everyone wants to do and what they're thinking. I think everyone should be a little selfish and worry about themselves. I also believe and agree with Ayn Rand that everyone should love themselves and work towards being better. If you continue to throw yourself in front of a train for other people you'll stand still while others succeed. Ayn Rand gets such a big reaction from people because no one wants to understand the basic human instinct to take care of oneself and that theres nothing wrong with it. Survival is survival. People often make accusations and are scared of what they do not understand.
