Welcome Back!

Students and families!

We are extremely excited about the beginning of a new school year! We are just a few weeks away and we are preparing to welcome our students back to campus.

The first day of school is Tuesday, August 16th. More information on first day of school procedures will be provided in the coming days.

Below you will find information regarding beginning of the year events, school supply lists, and other important information to help us start this year off right!

New Start and End Time 2022-23

Attention Cougar Families,

Beginning this school year we have a new start and end time for CPJH. Start time has been moved back 5 minutes from last year. First period starts at 8:00 am, with students being dismissed at 3:10 pm.

The doors to the school will be open each morning beginning at 7:15 am for both AM car rider drop off and bus drop off.

Cougar Camp 2022-23 (incoming 6th graders)

Welcome 6th graders to Cougar Camp on Tuesday, Aug. 9th from 4-5:30 pm.

Students and families will be able to tour the campus and meet their teachers. They will also receive their schedules and pick up school supplies that were pre-ordered (students must be enrolled online to receive these items).

PTO will be on campus for families to purchase spirit wear and for information on how to join the PTO.

Administrators, counselors, registrar, nurse and others will be on campus to answer any additional questions you may have.

Please enter through the front door and head to the gymnasium for Cougar Camp kickoff!

7th and 8th Grade Schedule/Supply Pick-up

Incoming 7th and 8th Grade students will be able to come to campus on Friday, August 12th from 2:45-5 pm to pick up their schedules as well as pre-ordered school supplies.

7th grade course verification sheets and supplies will be distributed in the small gym.

8th grade course verification sheets and supplies will be distributed in the large gym.

Administrators, counselors and other staff members will be on campus to answer any questions you may have.

Please enter through the front doors upon arrival.

New Afternoon (PM) Car Rider Procedures

Attention Parents and families:

Due to the continued growth of our campus, we will be changing the location and procedures for afternoon car rider pick up.

Students will no longer be picked up at the front of the school for dismissal. They will now be picked up at the back of the school near athletics. The pick-up area will be accessed via the back entrance of the school.

Morning drop off will remain in the same location as last year at the front of the school.

School Safety

We as a school our committed to ensuring that our campus is a safe environment for student growth.

We continue to work with district and community leaders to ensure that we follow the best safety practices available to us. We perform regular drills, discuss situations with students and continually review our facilities and procedures for areas of growth.

In an effort to keep the community informed, we have attached a quick Parents Guide to our Standard Response Protocols for various situations.

Annual Enrollment

Each year, Tomball ISD parents are required to update Annual Enrollment information for each child registered in Tomball ISD. These updates provide critical student information, such as Guardians, Emergency Contacts, and Medical Information, allowing the district to respond appropriately in case of an emergency. ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE THIS INFORMATION COMPLETED.

8th grade Algebra and Geometry students will also need to purchase a TI-84 Graphing Calculator

Clinic Information

The Nurse will be available for you to drop off any medication your student might need during the school day. As a reminder, all prescription medications need the "Authorization and Permission for Administration of Medication" form signed by a healthcare provider. If your student has a health condition that requires an Action Plan, those forms may be found here.​

We will not be issuing lockers this school year. We have streamlined the supply list and coordinated between subjects to lessen the load on students. Class sets of textbooks and additional Chromebooks will also help students have access to the material without additional things to carry.

If you feel that your student will have need of a locker please contact an administrator. Those requests will be handled during the 3rd week of school.

Football Parent Meeting

Attention: Football Parent Meeting will be held on 8/12 at 5:00 PM in the competition gym at CPJH. We will go over valuable information for the upcoming season. Please be in attendance if possible.

Football Players who don't receive their equipment at Football Camp next week can get theirs at the meeting.
