February is Black History Month
Black History Month is an annual observance originating in the United States, where it is also known as African-American History Month. It has received official recognition from governments in the United States and Canada, and more recently has been observed in Ireland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. It began as a way of remembering important people and events in the history of the African diaspora. It is celebrated in February in the United States and Canada, while in Ireland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom it is observed in October.

We Build It Better
Mrs. Kriner's Flight and Space courses are transitioning into this “We Build It Better” pilot course during 3rd Quarter. We are 1 of 30 schools in the nation chosen to pilot the course.
Here is a quick synopsis of what the class is:
"Dive into an all-inclusive education initiative for middle school students- the "We Build It Better" program is a unique, hands-on learning experience that engages middle school students by turning any classroom into a fun workplace."
Sponsors include: Flightworks Alabama, Airbus, Amazon Web Services, Snap On Tools, Alabama Power, The State of Alabama, Mott McDonald

Denton Archery Team Update
Last archery tournament details:
Denton came in 4th out of 7 middle schools. Hayden Epler shot 278, placing him as the top 7th grade boy in the tournament. Stanley Murray shot 261, placing him as the top 6th grade boy.
