ATTENDANCE
Dear parent/guardian:
Please report your student’s daily absence by completing our online absence form. If an absence does not meet the criteria for an excused absence or one of the extenuating circumstances specified in our board policy, the absence will be considered unexcused for attendance accounting purposes.
Please note that your student needs to be fever, diarrhea, and vomiting free for 24 hours without medication before returning to school.
If you have questions email our attendance clerk at DanaKChambless@katyisd.org
TARDIES
Our doors open at 7:45 a.m. We recommend having our Owls in by 8:10 a.m. This has been a great help in making sure they are ready to learn when the school day begins promptly at 8:10 a.m. Please have your child ready to exit the car when you are in position to unload. Your child is encouraged to exit on his/her own, if capable. Please do not drop your children off prior to 7:45 a.m. as there will be no adults on duty to supervise before that time.
New this year: If your student arrives at school at 8:10 a.m. or later, you will need to park and escort your child into the front office to sign him/her in. A tardy sign will be placed in the car rider drop-off line each morning promptly at 8:10 a.m. We appreciate your assistance with getting your student to school on time each day.
LATE DELIVERIES
Deliveries for items left/forgotten at home are only made at 10am.We ask that every effort be made to send your child’s items, including lunch, with him/her every day. Items include homework, lunches, backpacks and snacks. These may be dropped off to the cart in the front foyer. Label the item with the child’s name, grade and teacher.

STUDENT ID INFORMATION
If you are looking for your student’s Katy ID, their ID and other pertinent information can be found on the student’s ID badge. It is located under the bar code and begins with an alpha character.
Additionally, the Katy ID can also be found by logging into Home Access Center (HAC). Click on the Registration icon – Demographic Tab and locate the field called Student ID.
REMINDER: every student ID badge includes a unique student ID number that is used to check out library books and textbooks, to purchase food items in the cafeteria, to permit passage to certain club meetings, and to provide easy identification of students in common areas of the school. Secondary students must wear their ID badges at all times during school hours, while on school property. If a student loses the ID, a replacement must be purchased promptly from the designated school office/location. Failure to follow these procedures may be considered a violation of the Discipline Management Plan and Student Code of Conduct. For more information regarding student ID badges, please review the Discipline Management Plan and Student Code of Conduct (Identification (ID) Badges (p. 22).
BIRTHDAY TREAT POLICY
No outside birthday treats (food, gift bags, flowers, balloons, etc.) can be brought in by students to be handed out to other students. Please do not send birthday treats to school with your student as they will not be handed out to other students. PMCE will make your child’s birthday special by recognizing them on our morning announcements.
