Middle Level Jazz Festival: February 14 (7th Grade Jazz Band Only)
This year the 7th grade jazz band will participate in the Middle School Jazz Fest at Cardinal Heights Upper Middle School on Friday, February 14. Students will be participating in clinics and the event will end with a concert featuring the jazz ensembles from Prairie View, Patrick Marsh, and Cardinal Heights. Here's what you need to know!
- We will leave school at 2:10 pm and take a bus to Cardinal Heights Upper Middle School. Students should bring their backpacks, instrument, music, and band uniform.
- Students will be eating pizza for dinner. They should bring a snack for after our clinic.
- Please bring in $4.00 for pizza. (cash only please)
- We will all be performing at the end of the festival in the CHUMS auditorium. Concert begins at 6:30 pm.
- Students will be wearing their band uniform for the performance. They should bring that to school with them on that day.
- Following the 6:30pm concert, parents should plan on taking their child home with them.

Late Winter Concert: February 17
6th Graders: The 6th grade performance will begin at 6:30 PM. Students should arrive at Prairie View no later than 6:00 PM to warm-up and prepare for the concert.
7th Graders: The 7th grade performance will begin at 7:30 PM. Students should arrive at Prairie View no later than 7:10 PM to warm-up as a group.
All Students: Be sure to check that those black pants still fit! The concert will be webcast through the PVMS Band YouTube channel posted to www.spbb.org/pvms.
7th Grade UW-Whitewater Field Trip
What? On Thursday, February 20th the 7th grade band will travel to UW-Whitewater to participate in our annual band clinic with UWW Director of Bands, Dr. Glenn Hayes.
When? Thursday, Feb. 20. We will depart Prairie View at 7:45 am and return to Prairie View by 2:45 pm. Students should meet in the band room when they arrive to school.
Cost? The fee for the trip is $16. This includes student’s lunch on campus and the bus fee. Please turn money into Mrs. Gleason labeled with student’s name. Checks can be made out to Prairie View Middle School.
Uniform? Band Polo Shirt, Black Pants, Black socks, Black shoes (wear to school... no time to change)
Lunch? We will eat buffet style lunch on campus at Esker Dining Hall (lots of options). NO extra money is needed on the trip.
Supplies? Students will need to bring their instrument and their music in a folder with a pencil (put name on it!)
Other: Students, you represent our school, program, and community. Your very best behavior is expected at all times. RESPECT – listen when adults are giving you directions, be a good audience for other performers. Most importantly, have fun and learn! This clinic will help us to get better as a band!
