The Crosby Chronicle
Greetings from Principal Ferguson!
Hello, Crosby Families,
I hope this March newsletter finds you all doing well and looking forward to an early spring. This school year has been going so quickly, and I cannot believe it is March. As I reflect on my first year as the new principal at Crosby, I am so grateful to be in this position with such amazing students, families, and staff. We have a great team here, and I know how passionately our staff cares for all of our children each day. I am learning so many new things about Harvard CUSD 50, and the Harvard Community. As a lifelong learner, it brings me new excitement and energy, as I learn to manage the many responsibilities that come with this position. I will continue to give my best effort in leading this school and I appreciate your support along the way.
I would like to start sending a shorter monthly newsletter home so we will communicate more frequently on the events taking place at school. The quarterly newsletter will still come to you but will be more lengthy with staff updates and classroom news.
In this newsletter, I am featuring pictures of our students who were selected in my “Rockin’ Reader” and “Crosby Kid” monthly book drawings and the Book Fair. Also, our students had a fun time putting on snow gear and sledding with the Physical Education Team, our law enforcement team from the Harvard Police Department, and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department. It was a memorable experience for students and adults!
Finally, our Crosby Kids and staff have been taking part in the "Great Kindness Challenge." Students have been making great choices to be kind to others with their words and actions. Our students formed the letters KIND in the gym and modeled how, when we work together and choose to be kind, we can accomplish anything.
Enjoy this March edition of the Crosby Chronicle!
