Information For Pathfinder Families / October 23rd

Student Leadership Teams Summary

Our building was alive on Wednesday as we finally were able to bring back out Student Leadership Teams. Every student in grades 1st through 4th grade participated in a Student Leadership Team that will help add value to our school and community. Student Leadership Teams are tied to our Leader In Me program where we work to help all students find their voice and create innovative learner. Our Kindergarten students participated in a 7 Habit lesson with Dr. Doll and Mrs. Bohn. Our "Tiny Humans" as we like to refer to them as did a great job of applying their new learning to school. Please take some time to click on the link below to check out the planning and work that each team completed during their SLT time, and ask your own child about their leadership team. We are so excited to see these teams grow and give back to our school and community. LEVEL UP WITH LEADERSHIP PIRATES!

Parent / Teacher Conferences (November 3rd and 4th)

Your child's teacher has sent out communication about signing up for Parent/Teacher conferences on either November 3rd or 4th. We are offering both virtual and in-person options this school year. Our goal is to meet with 100% of our parents. Please make sure to sign up for a time that works for your schedule.

Pathfinder Book Fair / October 27th - November 4th

We will be hosting an in-person Scholastic Book Fair in the library this year! Students will have the opportunity to purchase items from the Book Fair during their regularly scheduled library classes! They can pay using cash or e-wallet (this is a way for students to pay electronically - details regarding e-wallets are included in the flyer). If your student goes to specials with another class, please plan for them to make any purchases on the day that class comes to the library. Below is a flyer with all the details about our Book Fair:

Pathfinder Trunk or Treat

We were very excited to bring back one of the best Pathfinder traditions this year. Our annual Trunk or Treat was a huge success where we had approximately 610 students pass through the line of trunks. Thank you to the volunteers who took the time to decorate a trunk and pass out candy, and to those who donated a bag or two of candy. Our goal for this event is to connect with the community and our families...and to also load the kids up with candy and then send them home with you all! Mission Accomplished!

PCR-3 Community Advisory: Apply by October 29

Platte County School District recognizes the importance of community input to help set the future direction of our schools.

We are launching the PCR-3 Community Advisory to gather volunteers who will have an ongoing role to review the District’s progress toward its Comprehensive Strategic Improvement Plan (CSIP) goals, as well as to provide input regarding the District's general operation and specific issues impacting education activities and programs.

This group will review, discuss, monitor, and advise on a variety of topics including the academic calendar, long-range facility plan, fraud and audit, safety and security, attendance area boundaries, facility naming, technology, equity and inclusion, character education, health and wellness, and additional topics requested by the Board of Education. The group will meet quarterly, or more regularly as needed, to complete specific tasks.

Any District resident, employee, or student may participate in the ongoing work of this group. PCR-3 hopes to have a full membership of 75 or more members. A PCR-3 Community Advisory Steering Committee will be composed of 8-10 District residents who represent a broad cross-section of PCR-3 parents and citizens with at least two representatives from each of PCR-3’s attendance areas. Steering Committee members will additionally meet in advance of full membership meetings.

If interested in serving on this advisory as a General Member or Steering Committee Member, please complete the application linked below by October 29.

Pathfinder Resource Checklist

Hello Pirate Families! At the beginning and middle of each school year, we ask parents and guardians to fill out our Resource Checklist on paper. This year we are asking you to complete the Resource Checklist electronically using this form. This brief questionnaire is your School Social Worker's first and primary way to help you access support services. It also lets us know if you are interested in giving back to your school community. Please do not hesitate to contact your School Social Worker if you have any questions.

COVID-19 Quarantine Guidance and Data

Please see the attached quarantine guidance for students or staff members who are identified as a close contact to a person with COVID-19. The graphic outlines the requirements if all parties are appropriately masked, as well as if they are not. These quarantine procedures are in alignment with directives from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Platte County Health Department (PCHD).

We will post numbers of reported COVID-19 cases and close contacts in our District on our website, displaying data from the previous seven days, as well as 7-day rolling average information. These cases will include staff and students, and will only include those reported to the District.

This information will be available on our District website here starting Tuesday, September 7.
