House of Dance

Beth Kephart

The main character, Rosie, and her mother coexist in the same house as near strangers. Rosie's mother has been accomplishing her own disappearing act since the day Rosie's father left them. Rosie's mom is spending more time with her boss, than with Rosie, her own daughter. Rosie begins to visit her grandfather every day since she is now faced with losing him. She helps him place the things that matter most to him "in trust". As Rosie learns her grandfather's story, she discovers the role music and motion played in his life. But memories, just like colors, fade. Rosie finally finds a way to restore the source of her grandfather's greatest joy, when she stumbles into the House of Dance.

If you are looking for a book that doesn't have a hole lot of surprises and is easy and flowing, I recommend this book because it is not an action or romance novel, it is not a horror book, and its great for girls.
