Night by Elie Wiesel
Would you be able to keep sane when being tortured daily, limited food, no say in anything you do? Or how about being beaten when you do or say something that the Nazis' don't approve of, put yourself in Eliezer's place.
The major conflict is Elie needs to stay strong throughout the difficult conditions he was forced through when living at Auschwitz. He had to work together with his father to try and keep them both alive. Elie struggles to keep his connection with God to stay true to himself and his father.
Innocent 12 year old Elie was never destined for the experiences he went through. When the Nazi's shipped trainloads of Jews to the Auschwitz-Birkenau complex in 1944, Elie and his family remained calm, in hope everything would be okay. Elie and his father are sepereated from the rest of the family, and brutaly tortured through their year living at Birkenau.
