New bullying law
We have talked with 4th and 5th graders to lay out the law and share with them the seriousness of these issues, especially as it relates to social media and things they might post about another student. Please reiterate with your student the importance of not posting hurtful things about other people, as this can become a disciplinary issue at school as well as a legal problem if it's serious enough.
Greenback campaign
When we finish our Greenback campaign, we have always given each grade level an additional $500 to spend on classroom material. Other purchases we made last year included subscriptions to student learning apps (Raz Kids, IXL) and the smaller soccer goals for the outside fields.
We ask that you give what you can, knowing that all the money will stay here to help Glenhope students. We also pledge to not do fundraisers (except for the Sky Ranch trip) if we are able to raise enough during Greenback to meet our needs. Each year for the last 16 years, our generous community has contributed over $10,000 to support our teachers and students. So far we have collected just over $3000 for our Greenback fund.

Native garden
Mrs. Mannen and I have met with the expert gardener and we have lots of great ideas to provide an outdoor interactive garden for our students to help science come alive. We will need some manual labor, and possibly some heavy equipment that can help with site prep. If you have access to a front loader or other machinery that could scrape the top layer of soil away, that would be AMAZING!
Counselor's corner
Here's a link to Mrs. Pape's newsletter. Mrs. Pape is our Glenhope counselor.
