No School - First Day of Spring Break
Chaplain's Corner
We have entered into the 2nd week of Lent as we move towards the pivotal days of our liturgical year. Jesus tells us that we are to Fast, Pray and give Alms. To give alms means to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves. At School, each class has an Alms Jar where students and staff can donate to help Families First right here in Fort. Saskatchewan. To help the students understand some of the disparity that is present in the world, and even right in Fort Saskatchewan, we have been encouraging them to seek what they are grateful for and donate in accordance. Last week was a slow start. We ended off the week by asking the students to donate 0.10 for each TV that they have in their household. This is not the only form of almsgiving that we can give though. Students are also encouraged to give of their gifts freely to help others. This could mean stepping up to help others in those small ways as Jesus called us to embody His actions. Moving forward this week, Talk with your children to help them understand how we can make someone's day that much better through our actions.
Have a blessed week and continue to pray as we all journey on our path of faith striving to become once again closer to our Creator, our Father.

Also, we have just launched our website! On there we have uploaded a membership form as well as a volunteer form that we would like all parents to fill out and email back to us.

The book fair will also be open in the evenings during the 3 way conferences at the school. We look forward to seeing you all and thank you so much for your continued support. EICS Family Wellness Worker
Service Delivery
Each school is staffed with a Family Wellness Worker (FWW), who works under the direction of their School Principal and the Assistant Superintendent of Faith & Wellness. FWW's receive clinical guidance from a Registered Psychologist.
The primary function of the Family Wellness team is to provide social and emotional support to students and families. Family Wellness Workers meet with students and parents to assess needs, set goals, identify required supports, and plan appropriate interventions.
They collaborate with school system staff and community resources to build a “village” of support around students/families who are struggling.
Referrals
Parental consent is required for FWW services.
Referrals to the Family Wellness Program may be made by students, parents/guardians, school administration, teachers, or other school staff (e.g. school counsellor or collaborative response coordinator).
Parents and guardians can access these services by speaking with the Principal or contacting the school's Family Wellness Worker directly.
