Adasha White - Bio
I am currently the assistant director on the PTO board as well as room parent in my daughter's class. As the assistant director I help our committee chairs understand their duties, PTO objectives and the PTO mission as well as other duties assigned by the director. I have served on the PTA and assisted in the transition to PTO, for four years when Sanai attended kindergarten here at Dyer. I started off volunteering as chair of the Spirit Night committee and my last postion was vice president. When I am not busy with PTO, I am managing serveral businesses that my husband and I own together. We are owners of a security company and two trucking companies. Mutitasking is a skill I am well veserd in due to balancing home and being self employed. My duties are but not limited to hiring staff and scheduling, payroll, and working with our venders for quality control.
When Sanai started school, I made it a priority to be involved in her education which included volunteering in the classroom and developing a relationship with her teachers and community. That is why I joined the PTO and continue serve to today. I want to become assistant director because I believe that our organization is a great way to bring parents, students and school staff together to serve our students. Making education fun as well as important is a great way for children to continue to want to learn. As Sanesa starts her journey at Dyer, I will continue volunteering and being involved with the PTO because of the positive impact it had on Sana i's educational experiences.
Sincerely,
Adasha White
Erin Bruce - Bio
Erin Bruce has a passion for making Dyer an amazing, uplifting, community based learning environment for all of our children, teachers and staff. With her own children and nieces attending school at Dyer, she has a hefty investment in being involved and contributing.
Mrs. Bruce believes that as the PTO, the organization has a great opportunity to mold and build our community, all while having a little fun along the way! Mrs. Bruce feels that our children spend more time within the walls of our school Monday through Friday, than they do within their own homes. Research has proven that those who feel appreciated and respected in turn try harder, are more satisfied with their work environment and perform better overall. With this in consideration, Mrs. Bruce strongly supports the stance that one of the intricate parts of our job as the PTO is to fully support, encourage and express our gratitude and appreciation towards our teachers and staff.
It is Mrs. Bruce's belief that another essential portion of the PTO is to establish a strong and secure community involvement where everyone feels welcomed, appreciated, represented, acknowledged and heard. Mrs. Bruce feels that we have an amazing platform here at Dyer with unlimited potential.
Mrs. Bruce’s volunteerism at Dyer and in the community includes but is not not limited to: being a room parent yearly for at least one of her children's classes (2019-present), co-chairing Daddy Daughter Dance Committee (2019-present), Hospitality Committee co-chair: Teacher Appreciation Week, Luncheons, Half Day Snacks/Meals, Appreciation Days for Staff and Seasonal Gifts for Teachers and Staff (2020-2022), volunteering for biyearly book fairs (2019-present), Team Mom and Bookkeeper for MVAA Softball (2023), PTO Board Member: Treasurer, Volunteer and Room Parent Coordinator (2021), Online Dyer Community Outreach: Build a Dyer Bear, Step by Step Painting (2021), assist in teacher work room (2019).
