GT students also have the opportunity to do higher level/interest projects during daily WIN time. We believe that our students need to know the TEKS first. When it is clear the student knows the expected standards, that is when the student can be challenged to take the subject to a deeper level. We want DEEP roots, not surface level roots. DEEP roots will anchor our GT students for their future classwork.
The Negley GT teachers for this school year are:
1st grade: Kayla Kromer; Christy Steubing
2nd grade: Stephanie Estes; Jeannie Moore
3rd grade: April Cook, Chrissie Doerr
4th grade: Floyd White, Lisa Cauble, Whitney Bell

April 2020 Gifted in Crisis
Gifted in Crisis. Crisis happens to everyone. The Covid-19 pandemic is happening to all of us, all over the world. What's different about the way the gifted handle crisis, handle this pandemic?
Join us for Gifted in Crisis, a blog from a variety of perspectives on gifted reactions, gifted survival, and yes, even gifted success when we face crisis.
Don't miss our previous Blog Hops on related topics... OK, there are no related topics. This is something most of us could not have imagined being in our houses 24 hours a day, wearing masks on the rare occasions we venture out to the doctor or grocery store... but the good news is, as gifted folks we are likely aware of just how much good our social distancing is doing to reduce the estimated effects of the pandemic, at least in our little corner of the world...

Parent question of the month - If my child is so smart, why is he/she not making good grades?
There can be many reasons for this, but a really BIG reason can be perfectionism. Take a look at this article for a brief explanation between perfectionism and excellence.
GT Testing will begin in January
We have 90 students who have been nominated for GT testing this year. Their testing will begin in January.
If you want to understand what your child's GT testing results really mean, take a look at this article.
