Dr. Rachel Williams, Principal
From the Principal
Dear Parents,
Grandparents Day was huge success. Thank you to all of our parents for spreading the word to get families to CCES. The compliments that were shared with me and the staff would bring tears to your eyes. Grandparents absolutely love being here and we love having them! I was able to visit each classroom at some point during the hour long visit. I saw students playing games as well as interviewing their grandparents. In some classes, I saw grandmothers conducting read alouds. What fantastic moments to witness. Please send my sincere appreciation to everyone who came. We look forward to making it even better next year! Enjoy a few pics here.
Last Friday, while you were enjoying the day off, our CCES staff collaborated with the staff of Milton High School for professional development. We are thankful to be able to provide three extra release days to our staff through our School Governance Team/Flex Days. Time for teachers to plan and interact with one another is always positive. I also had the pleasure of attending the Freedom Bowl last Friday night. Shout out to Coach Sly, the Milton Athletic Director, for putting on such a great event. It is always a pleasure to partner with our feeder schools and see so many Colts in attendance. Please see pictures of these events below.
Next week, I will be away on Monday so if you have any concerns, please see Ms. Haltrecht. This weekend, my dad and I are headed to Kyle Field to see Clemson take on Texas A&M. I hope you have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week.
Fulton County Calendar Change
Fulton County Schools Parents,
Superintendent Jeff Rose recently recommended a change to the district’s 2018-2019 School Year Calendar. At its August meeting, the Fulton County Board of Education voted to approve that recommendation.
This school year, November 6, 2018 has been changed from a regular school day, to a teacher work day. March 8, 2019 has been changed from a teacher work day, to a regular school day.
The decision alleviates safety concerns raised by some parents and staff, allows for additional staff training on safety protocols, and maintains instructional time for our students. Additionally, the Fulton County school board has expressed interest in addressing a long-term solution through the legislative process by removing schools as polling places.
The revised calendar is posted at this link. In addition, the district is re-printing the calendar and distributing the new version to families to eliminate any confusion. We have asked each school to also post the calendar to their website and send reminders of these changes using our telephone calling system.
Sincerely,
Fulton County Schools

Thank you.
Calling all volunteers!
Everyone interested in volunteering with students at Crabapple Crossing will need to register with Fulton County Schools prior to their volunteer shift. Fulton County Schools (FCS) updated their system over the summer and all volunteers, both new and returning, will need to complete the online registration. The process is simple and will take about 20 minutes to complete from home. To begin, follow the link, http://www.fultonschools.org/en/community/Pages/VolunteerRegistration.aspx.
Please complete this online registration at least 48 hours before you arrive at school to volunteer. Also, please be prepared to present your driver’s license to the front office staff the first time you come to volunteer.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Fulton County Schools Code of Conduct
Parents are asked to review school system rules and submit an acknowledgement signature form at the beginning of each school year.
The updated 2018-2019 Student Code of Conduct & Discipline Handbook web link is listed below. A hard copy may also be obtained in our school office.

Teachers will be reviewing the Code of Conduct with students during the first two weeks of school. It is important that parents also discuss the Code of Conduct and potential consequences with their children.
After reviewing the Code of Conduct, parents are requested to submit the Acknowledgment of Electronic Receipt by clicking on the link below. A hard copy can be obtained in the school office.
