eLEARNING IN D200
eLEARNING BEGINS AGAIN ON MONDAY, MARCH 30
On Monday, March 30th all students will receive their first eLearning daily plan after Spring Break. These plans may look a little different because we've moved to a consistent format for all grade levels in all elementary buildings. Teachers and staff will work collaboratively to create engaging lessons and activities that support student growth. These plans will focus on key grade level standards, with instructional supports that will guide student learning. Art, music, PE, and STEAM will be incorporated in the same lesson plans.
Teachers will interact with students in a variety of ways, including Class Dojo, email, instructional videos, and possible through Google Meet or Canvas Conferences. We'll all be learn ing more as we move forward. Thanks so much for your positive feedback and for encouraging your children to participate in the lessons provided last week.
We will continue to follow the mandate from our governor which states that schools will remain closed through April 7th. During this time we will provide eLearning for all students.
Watch for:
- Daily Plan from teacher(s) through Class Dojo, email, and/or Canvas
- Olson Website now has links to all daily eLearning plans
- School Story updates for Olson community in School Dojo
- Contact from Special Education staff as applicable to individual student programming
- More information regarding school closure, eLearning, and resources available for families
INFO FROM SUPERINTENDENT MOAN ON MARCH 23, 2020
District 200 Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds your family safe and healthy during this difficult time in our world. As you may already know, Governor Pritzker has canceled school through April 7 for the entire state of Illinois. We are not taking part in eLearning this week due to our scheduled spring break.
Our eLearning plan will continue starting Monday, March 30. Both the Governor and the State Board of Education have called for school districts to provide for the continued education of all Illinois students. We are prepared to provide our eLearning opportunities to families in District 200 while schools are closed by the Governor. We know our staff, our students and our families are up to this important challenge.
Please use this week as an opportunity to focus on staying safe and helping to slow the spread of the virus. As always, thank you for your patience and support as we all work through the COVID-19 Pandemic. As you have seen, this situation is evolving rapidly. As events unfold, we will continue to communicate in a timely and transparent manner.
Thank you,
Mike Moan
