Imagine Charter at North Lauderdale
January 2020 Newsletter
Principal Message
We started this year with a bang. On the teachers first day back in 2020, we were pleased to learn that one of our teachers was once again the Regional Teacher of the Year. This is a great honor and we are pleased to go on this journey with her. We also are happy to share that baby Perkins has arrived, Naomi Simone Perkins was born January 2, 2020 weighing 8 pounds and 3 ounces. We are so excited for the new addition to the Perkins family. As we continue to celebrate your students we look forward to creating more activities that students will be able to sharpen their skills and broaden their horizons.
Humbly Yours,
Ms. Bailey
Regional Teacher of the Year
City of North Lauderdale
We were pleased to be able to receive a certificate from the City of North Lauderdale for the artistry of our 5th grader D.Z. she was able to create her vision of peace and her poster was on display at City Hall. Congratulations and thank you for showing the city how talented our students are.
Humane Society
A couple of weeks ago, the Humane Society came to campus to teach our Kindergartners safety for animals. Our students learned best practices for taking care of animals. As you can see, they were very excited to meet the puppy.
Panther Basketball Players
Last weekend we had the opportunity to participate in the Imagine Inaugural Basketball Tournament. This was an exciting, nerve wrenching, teeth clenching, heart stopping, over whelming day that I will hold in my heart for years to come.
Our Panther Basketball players entered this arena as the youngest team and left with the respect of all that were there to see how determined, resilient, and focused our students are. The love and compassion showered on these players this Saturday pulled on the heart strings of many. Our players added more than excitement to the tournament but they brought out the Imagine spirit in us all. I cannot put into words the amount of appreciation I have for our fellow Imagine South Florida members. To see and hear the Imagine - Chancellor teachers, parents, and teams screaming to support our players, seeing the Imagine Broward players on the sidelines huddled in a corner cheering our players on was so overwhelming that I asked someone to please record it cause I was just too out of sorts. Thank you is not enough to share the amount of appreciation I have for everyone.
Our players were distraught after the outcome of double overtime and sudden death but when they walked off that court seeing how the Imagine - Chancellor Chargers where there to support them and tell them how good they were had us all speechless. In the end, our players were awarded the "Team of Best Character" award.
Thank you to Coach Bynes and our Panther Basketball players for making this day special for us all. Thank you also goes out to our parents and teachers who were able to witness this event.
100th Day of School
This week, we celebrated the 100th day of learning this school year. Students participated in various activities that involved counting, sorting, and imagining what they would be like when they are 100 years old. It was a fun event for all students that I am sure they were excited to share their experience.
Report Card Night
Thank you parents for coming out to our second report card night for the school year. We hope that you were able to have informative conversations with your child's teacher and learned what is taking place to ensure that your child continues to grow. We were also excited to celebrate our basketball players this evening for how hard they played during our Imagine Basketball Tournament.
