NEWS FROM WERNER

Last Day of School-May 26

The last day of school will be Wednesday, May 26. Students will be dismissed at 12:00. There will not be any meals (breakfast or lunch) served on the last day of school.

Lost and Found Items

Our office team will have all lost/found items on tables out in front of the school from 3-4 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. Anything left after that will be donated to charity.

Technology Notes from Mrs. Powers

What a year! It was full of technology in ways we have never experienced before. We may not have liked all of it, but it sure did save the day. Now we need to round everything up and get it ready for next year. Please check at home for certain items. Some students still have iPads at home that need to be returned with the cord. There are also still some mifi’s at home. These are the wifi hotspots some families received. One last look for cords and computers is also a good idea.

PSDV students can drop computers and cords off at Werner Wednesday or Thursday. There will be a collection bin in the front of the building.

Thank you for your help with this.

If your student needs daily medications and you would like to pick up before the last day of school, the needed number of pills can be counted out and kept in the original RX container here at school.

Need busing in 2021-22? PSD bus request process now open

· Students who currently receive transportation services for the 2020-21 school year will be prioritized for busing for next school year. Their families do not need to take any action steps at this time unless the following changes apply, and Transportation will notify families of route information sometime after Aug. 1 and before the start of school. If a current rider will have a change in addresses, change in schools or is moving from Early Childhood Education to kindergarten, they need to submit a bus request to be considered for services.

· Families will get a pop-up notification after submitting their request. Changes can be made to an application in ParentVUE up until the June 30 deadline.

· Students who did NOT receive busing in 2020-21 must submit a request.

· Requesting transportation is not a guarantee of service.

More information is available on the Transportation web page. >>

Resources for those facing housing and food hardship

The COVID-19 pandemic has created financial hardships for many in our community, leading to housing instability and food insecurity. There are financial resources available to help families and landlords and protections in place to help people stay housed. The PSD Department of Language, Culture, & Equity has worked with community partners to put together resources to support families.

Please see the LCE Family Resources Information (English and Spanish) for information on support with housing, food, and utilities.
