REAL QUICK
Hope your Memorial Day holiday was fantastic & filled with watermelon, family & friends!
It doesn’t seem real that we are down to our last days! We want to take a minute to celebrate our STAAR scores for third & fourth grade that we received last week. Fourth grade achieved an 87% passing rate in Reading which is the highest in the district. What’s significant is the amount of growth in that group that we have seen, so we are excited about the gains made there! Our writing dropped to a 67% so we know we have a considerable amount of work to do there, & we will make sure that we are more focused on our school-wide writing efforts next year. Kudos also to third grade teachers whose scores were a respectable 82% - we know it takes a village, & we know there are many circumstances & variables that affect test scores, but we are pleased that we are seeing growth in student achievement, as we do not ever want to become complacent or about the status quo! I hope you will take a minute to express your appreciation to our teams for what they have achieved with instruction this year. We have come a long way!
