Veterans Day Assembly
Fredericktown Local Schools will be celebrating Veterans Day at 9 a.m. on Friday November 11, 2022. If you have served or currently serve in the military, I would like to invite you to attend our assembly and be our honored guest. We will host the event in the high school gym, and we are asking Veterans to RSVP. You can call FES office at 740.694.2781 to let us know you will be attending. We always look forward to having as many Veterans and guests as possible join us for the celebration, so please plan to attend. We would like Veterans to arrive between 8:15 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. We will have refreshment and students will be available to welcome you. VIP seating will be provided for the assembly.

Technology in the Classroom
- Fredericktown Elementary School has been a 1:1 school for several years
- Teachers and staff have access to curriculum materials and resources to enhance student learning
- Learning platforms have been incorporated into the daily educational routines
- Teachers have participated in professional development to enrich student learning experiences
- K-5 students participate in Learning Lab classes aimed at supporting technology use
- Technology as a learning tool is used as a support, intervention and as a means to enrich learning

5th Grade Instrument Selection
- Fredericktown Elementary School has an outstanding music program
- Mrs. Jessica Overholt provides excellent music education to our students K-5
- Mr. Andrew Hollenbaugh works with our 5th graders as they are introduced to instruments
- Music Education Programs enhance students overall educational experience and provides our students with a well rounded education
- Music education enhances language capabilities, improves memory, strengthens hand-eye coordination and increases powerful study habits
- Music education fosters individual expression and teamwork; while helping mental processing and problem solving
Classroom Based "Guided Reading"
- Guided reading practices are conducted across the building
- Provides small group instruction within the classroom
- Students read a teacher selected text and the teacher provides support for reading increasingly challenging texts
- Texts are at a students instructional reading level (level at which student requires support)
- The student reads the whole text
- Teaching is responsive to individual students strengths and needs
- Allows students to engage with a rich variety of texts
- Helps students to think like proficient readers
- Enables students to read more challenging texts with support
