Gupta writers wrote many kinds of literary works such as: poetry, fables, and folktales. Also they wrote plays including of dramas and comedies. The plays also included of historical and political subjects. They also wrote about Hindu law and religion. Some of the great Sanskrit literature was written about this time. Which includes books such as the Mahabarata.
A Sanskrit epic principally concerning the dynastic struggle and civil war between the Pandavas and the Kauravas in the kingdom of Kurukshetra about the 9th century b.c., and containing the text of the Bhagavad-Gita, numerous subplots, and interpolations on theology, morals, and statecraft.
