Principal's Pen

Dear Bishop Baraga Trekkers,

Good morning and happy Monday! March is here. This is a busy month for us as re-enrollment begins. Next week, on Tuesday, March 15, we have re-enrollment night for our current families. We will be having an open house that evening at school from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Parents will be able to re-enroll, meet the teachers, and even have some pizza. Bring the whole family. Enrollment is open first to our current families. Our goal is to have everyone re-enrolled by March 31st. To re-enroll parents simply fill out the tuition contract and pay a $50 enrollment fee. Starting April 1st, we will begin open enrollment for new families.

Financial aid is available for families with children in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. Applications for financial aid should be filled out on FACTS. Those applications are due on April 15th. Once all the applications are in, the Financial Aid Committee meets and grants financial aid to those who qualify. For those families who have children in both the preschool/pre-k and K-8, there is a $500 discount. There is also a $500 discount for any family with 2 or more children in the preschool and pre-k. Please call the office if you have any question about re-enrollment.

Our Caught Being a Christian Award this week goes to Goran Gayan. Goran helped another student with a problem during technology class. He was practicing the virtue of kindness. Great job, Goran!

Have a wonderful week!

Pancake Breakfast

Last Tuesday was Shrove Tuesday, the day before Lent begins. This day is sometimes associated with pancakes. This is because Christians made pancakes to use up all their eggs, butter, and cream in preparation for their Lenten fast. We had a pancake breakfast that morning at Queen of Peace Parish. Thank you to the Parent Association for sponsoring this event and to Father Mike for hosting us!
